Analog Devices’ processors and microcontrollers support a myriad of general-purpose and application-specific needs. Processors include audio processors/SoCs, embedded processors, and digital signal processors featuring our floating-point (SHARC+, SHARC, and TigerSHARC) and fixed-point (Blackfin, SigmaDSP, and ADSP-21xx) DSP cores with a variety of peripheral mixes. Microcontrollers include mixed-signal control processors and analog microcontrollers built around 32-bit Arm and 8-bit 8052 core technologies. The broad portfolio includes on-chip options such as analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion, flash memory, power management, and digital accelerators/filters.

Featuring the Analog Devices SHARC® and SHARC+®digital signal processing (DSP) core technologies, the SHARC audio processor portfolio offers deterministic and very low processing latency with best-in-class MIPS/mW performance. Many heterogeneous multicore processors feature FIR/IIR hardware accelerators to offload common digital signal processing algorithms from the core, thus freeing the core to perform post-processing algorithms in parallel, making them the ideal choice for real-time audio applications. The broad SHARC+ SoC portfolio provides performance scalability up to 1 GHz and a variety of on-chip memory configurations and peripheral mixes. For complex peripherals such as Ethernet and USB, some SoCs feature an integrated ARM core to handle running stack software and other microcontroller tasks.

Analog Devices’ microcontroller units (MCUs) can be used in a multitude of IoT processing applications. They allow analog and digital sensing for interpreting capabilities with built-in ADCs, DACs, and temperature sensors for precision sensing applications. Some of these MCUs can be powered by a single coin cell battery with on-board power management, along with embedded memory and security features to help protect our customer’s IP. These microcontrollers can be used in industrial, automotive, and instrumentation applications, as well as Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as Smart Agriculture, Smart Building, Smart City, Smart Factory, and Smart Health.
