Event Details
Power affects every aspect of overall system performance, from efficiency to noise to robustness. At ADI, we work on power every day, from theory to system planning and simulation to testing. Over the years, we’ve developed some of the most powerful development tools available.
Both new engineers and experienced power designers are welcome. We will cover a range of topics with depth, while also demonstrating tools to accelerate your design process.

System power tree, control theory, compensation components selection
Approach power design from a system perspective building a power tree. Then dive into control loop fundamentals including both voltage and current mode control, covering compensation techniques and the pros and cons of each approach. Conclude by developing intuitive approach on the effect of loop compensation components on stability and load transient.
How to select compensation components and their effect on loop performance
Walk through the steps of power supply design including product selection, schematic capture, optimization of efficiency, transient response, and loop stability. Understand the trade-offs for each choice and how to optimize.
How to measure loop performance in LTspice and on the bench
Learn how to simulate a frequency response analysis (FRA) in LTspice. Understand the critical parameters of the analysis and how efficiently run a simulation on your circuit.
Power analysis and loop stability measurement—hands on demo
See the LTpowerAnalyzer in action running actual Bode plots, transient responses, and output impedance measurements on a variety of power supply topologies. Learn how to operate the LTpowerAnalyzer for any circuit and compare actual results with simulations.
